2024 Husk Rum Harvest Fest: full Program

G’day, rum lovers and festival goers! We’ve got some exciting news to spill. Our Husk Rum Harvest Fest is just around the corner, and we’ve put together a cracker of a program for you. This year’s festival runs from 12 to 18 August and is set to be a ripper event for locals and visitors alike.

A Country Fair Meets a Rum Festival

Imagine the charm of a classic country fair mixed with the thrill of a rum festival—yeah, it’s as good as it sounds. We’re talking pop-ups from legends like the Tweed Regional Museum, Minjumbul Aboriginal Cultural Centre, and Sunshine Sugar. And don’t miss the Cane Growers Competition, where we’ll find out who’s got the biggest stalk in the valley—talk about a tall order!

Throughout the week, you can have a crack at cane juicing, feed some of our friendly cows, and soak up the good vibes on the farm.

The Main Events

The real fun kicks off on Friday night with the Husk Rum Tasting Club & Campfire Supper. Join our Founder, Paul Messenger, and Head Distiller, Quentin Brival, as they take you on a rum journey like no other. We’ll be launching our highly anticipated Husk Porter Cask ACR, aged in ex-Stone & Wood beer barrels. With fewer than 1,000 bottles up for grabs, this one’s sure to be a hot ticket.

But wait, there’s more! You’ll get to taste rum straight from the barrel (how good is that?) before heading out to the campfire for a hearty supper under the stars.

Saturday is our main festival day, jam-packed with live music, rolling distillery tours, outdoor cooking, and rum masterclasses. It’s a day for the whole family to enjoy, so bring the kids along for the fun.

Sunday will be a chilled, family-friendly community day featuring local acoustic legends Finn Hoy and Birren Slabb. Grab a spot on the grass, sip on a cold one, and enjoy the tunes.

Ticket Details

Here’s the lowdown on tickets: $10 for kids (includes a non-alcoholic drink) and $20 for adults (includes a welcome cocktail and access to all rum tastings and masterclasses). It’s a bargain for a weekend full of fun, flavour, and fantastic company.

As our main man Paul Messenger says, “We’re thrilled to host the Husk Rum Harvest Fest and share our passion for rum and this land with the community. This is not just a rum festival; it’s an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate our shared heritage and this beautiful land we call home. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to our distillery for a great weekend celebrating all things local.”
