The Lost Blend is a limited release of 761 individually numbered bottles of Husk Cultivated Australian Rum.

This rum was drawn from American oak barrels filled between 2014 and 2016, both relatively dry seasons allowing full flavour development of the stalks, and bottled in August 2021.

This exceptional rum was produced from hand-cut and crushed whole cane sticks and distilled in our original 1000 litre hybrid pot column still in The Little Green Shed at Tumbulgum. 

WHY “THE LOST BLEND”?

During the Great Flood of 2017, the hand-written distillation notes for the two barrels filled in 2014 were destroyed and with that their fermentation histories and distillation cuts were lost forever.

But the vestiges of that history are nonetheless captured in every bottle of The Lost Blend.

The Lost Blend will also be the last ever Husk Rum to be released in our original tapered bottle.

This is a complex blend that keeps on giving once poured into the glass, where bright sweet notes of lemon sorbet meet the aged, caramelised oak aromas.

This is our most exciting aged release yet. A blend of farm to bottle rum subtropical aged for 4-6 years.
