Husk Kitchen & COCKTAIL GARDEN

When we’re not harvesting sugar cane, we’re harvesting from our kitchen & cocktail garden! Every morning before service starts at Planters Cafe, our chief gardener Lou, Chef Paolo and Husk founder Mandy (she can’t help herself) are in the morning sunshine picking fresh goodies for the day.

The kitchen garden grows tomatoes, a myriad of herbs, leafy greens, corn, pumpkins… you name it. Lou also grows the beautiful edible flowers and fresh herbs you’ll find in your cocktail at the Husk Cellar Door.

The kitchen & cocktail garden is part of our sustainability efforts to reduce the need for plastic and food miles. We used to buy ~15 plastic punnets of edible flowers each week. Over the course of the year, that adds up to a horribly depressing amount of plastic. But not any more!

Check out some images of the bounty below.

You can book a table at our cellar door here.
