Mrs Brown Bar & Kitchen in Newstead is our featured Venue of the Month!
We visited head bartender Hamish Tronc and the team at one of Brisbane’s best venues. A bustling bar and restaurant with a beautiful long backbar, Hamish whipped up a couple of cocktails which they serve up.
COCKTAIL ONE: Purple Haze
Ingredients:
45 Ink Gin
15 Fair Açaí
30ml fresh lemon juice
20 egg white
10ml simle syrup
Method: Mix Ink Gin, St Germain, lavender syrup and lime juice together in a glass. Top with ice and tonic. Garnish with an edible flower.
Lavender syrup recipe: in a saucepan mix 1 part white sugar, 1 part water and a handful of lavender petals. Bring to the boil, cool and strain.
COCKTAIL TWO: Rosemary Southside
60ml Ink Gin
30ml fresh lime juice
15 rosemary syrup (1:1 simple syrup simmered with fresh rosemary sprigs)
COCKTAIL THREE: Pure Cane Old Fashioned
60ml Pure Cane
20ml cane syrup
2 dash orange bitters
Stir all ingredients over ice and strain into an ice-filled glass.
