Negroni Week

We’re celebrating Negroni week in style at Husk Distillers this week, taking the classic Negroni and infusing it with local botanicals. Grapefruit, local Blackboard coffee and kumquat fresh from Husk’s kitchen garden are centre-stage for some limited edition Negronis here at the cellar door, this week until Sunday.

To celebrate this week of all things gin, Campari and dry vermouth, we’re donating $1 from every negroni sold to local non-for-profit, Friends Of The Pound. Husk’s own Mauricio has come up with a few of his own fun negronis, available at the cellar door this weekend.

The humble Negroni dates back to Florence, Italy 1919 at Caffe Casoni. Legend has it a certain Count Camillo Negroni demanded something stronger than his favourite aperitif ‘Americano’. The bartender obliged, replacing the soda water with gin and the lemon with orange. And, mama mia, the negroni was born.

Mauricio’s picks: Chocolate Negroni with garden chocolate mint, sweet & zesty Kumquat Negroni, sweet & bitter Grapefruit Negroni, and of course, the Classic Negroni.
