Nestled in the trendy and charming streets of Paddington in Brisbane, is NOTA. Residing in a heritage building is this chic-Euro style wine bar that oozes sophistication and style. NOTA’s food and beverage menu are just as impressive. We stopped in to speak with the team about why they selected Husk Rum to feature on their carefully curated cocktail menu.

What’s your all time favourite Husk Rum variety?

It has to be Botanic. It has great balance of citrus and strawberry gum; far from your typical “white rum.”

What’s your favourite Husk Rum cocktail?

A recent addition to our list is the BB Smash which features a combination of Husk Botanic, basil, fresh mandarin and chilli. It’s a super refreshing cocktail with a nice kick (and fairly boozy).

Grab your shakers, let’s make the BB Smash!

Ingredients:

  • 60ml Husk Botanic

  • 20ml Lemon Juice

  • 20ml Mandarin Juice

  • 15ml Sugar Syrup

  • 3-5ml Basil leaves

  • 4-6 dashes Grapefruit bitters

  • 2 small slices chilli


Method:

Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a glass and garnish with basil leaves.
